Digestive symptoms and diseases are difficult to manage and negatively impact quality of life. Traditional healthcare delivery requires volume and that limits “connectedness” and limits the patient physician relationship. Plus, how much do you actually remember from the brief discussion in the endoscopy recovery unit?
At PostRx Healthcare we prioritize listening and connecting. As Sir William Oster noted, “the good physician treats the disease; the great physician treats the patient who has the disease. LISTEN to your patient. He/she is telling you the diagnosis.”
By having ongoing discussions/communications, we believe that we can empower our patients to continue to make changes that will reduce symptoms and improve overall digestive health and wellness. Plus, we are constantly refining our approach and collaborations so we might have additional treatment recommendations. Stay connected…between the visits.
Importantly, know that we hope to achieve slow and incremental change. After all, many of our patients have been experiencing symptoms for years. Therefore, it will take some time to achieve measurable goals. But, don’t be disheartened. We believe in the “1% rule”…a series of 1% changes, if added together over time, can lead to significant cumulative benefits.
Be well!
