Exciting news for IBD patients!  Listen to the podcast below to learn about new treatment options for patients with crohn’s and colitis.

Newer treatment options include oral, small-molecule medications that more specifically target inflammatory molecules.  And, there is increasing data that some of the biologics that are typically given as an IV infusions can safely and effectively be dosed with an at-home subcutaneous injection.  In fact, doctors in the UK used Infliximab (Remicade) as a subQ injection throughout the pandemic.  Recent data suggests that drug levels are equivalent (and higher) in those patients using the subQ formulation as compared to the IV infusion.  Importantly, there was no difference in symptom control, remission rates, or prednisone use.
